Well, this was a simple idea, but even I hadn't thought of it... "How about a piece of art (any type or style) dedicated to someone. Best one wins." And how many pieces of art on dA is dedicated to a close friend? Not a great deal.. unless they are requested or fanart, in my opinion.
AND, with Valentines Day coming up, I think it'd be a sweet gesture to do for someone else.

WHAT YOU MUST DO TO ENTER (anyone may enter!!!):
* Create anything you wish, artwise. It could be poetry, prose, digital art, photography, whatever you like.
* On the description part when submiting the piece, you must dedicate your work to someone else on deviantART who means a lot to you, and it'd be great if you could write a little about them.
* Send ME the note please! Preferably not in this journal, just a note titled "Dedication Competition" and the link to your work.

DEADLINE: 15th February. Yet, I may extend this due date a little further if need be!

On a different dA note... I'm officially a helper on dAmn (#helpers), thank you to everyone who congratulated me and who promoted me ... and congrats to *Comrade-Kelly who became one too!



I really havent had much time for dAmn in the last few days. I've just started Year 12, my VCE... or last year of schooling. I'm really happy to say I'm doing; continued Legal Studies, Media, Further Maths, English, and History Revolutions. Already I have a 1000 word essay due Wednesday. That, and Charlie have been keeping me busy and well away from the computer. But not to worry, no one is forgotten and I am around to reply to your messages!
I'm really hoping this year I can concentrate more on school and get ahead where I want to... I've already been lucky enough to get a great job, now I'm thinking of doing something in Child Welfare. I read the saddest case in the newspaper today, while doing Legal studies... It was about a 3 year old girl who had been brutally bashed in the head, and burnt by cigarettes by her mother and the mum's lover (which happens to be her cousin ). What's worse, the Hospital claimed the little girl will now probably have brain damage permanently. The mother claimed that she was a "passive victim of her lovers abuse", bullcrap... This is another reason why I'd like to get into something to do with Child welfare. I've been doing Legal Studies since last year and I really do enjoy it, though not all of it is as riveting... I did have to visit Loddon Prison which might sound okay, but I had no idea i'd be interviewing a murderer... Alright I'll stop rambling now

Back to school, I was very happy to see my friends again, I hadn't seen them much over the holidays because we were all busy or working. When I saw them, Cassy gave me a whole bunch of stationary from Smiggle!! And Luci gave me this gorgeous silver locket bracelet. It was really nice to know they had missed me, I'd gone a bit crazy from not seeing them!

I'll just leave it at that now and update this journal again later. Check back to this journal occasionally when I update or edit it please!
